Animal and poultry farmer
An animal or poultry farmer shall manage, plan, organise the activities of the animal and poultry production of the enterprise.
It manages livestock production and controls and plans factors (e.g. feed rations) that affect the production of products. It also plans and analyses the deployment of possible technological innovations, participates in the selection and ordering of technical aids, standard equipment and machinery.
Animal and poultry farmers monitor, collect, update and provide data on livestock production. It shall monitor the condition, productivity, health of the animals, prevent animal health problems and, where appropriate, arrange for treatment in cooperation with a veterinarian. He or she supervises the work of the respective (skilled) employees on a daily basis, which may include activities with animals, e.g. feeding, milking, cleaning, restocking, monitoring health status, preparing for sale, etc.
There are slightly more than 2400 livestock and poultry farmers working in agriculture, the number of jobs in the future will decrease.There are enough graduates of the profession to fill the jobs of the future.
