The reception secretary will be increasingly replaced in the future by technology, such as Pepper, a communication robot

In both staff and administrative occupations, applications can be found in all sectors of the economy and in a wide variety of organisations. The largest number of employees is in administrative work in the offices of assistant and information and document management, such as secretary, administrator, assistant and assistant manager. The average salary of staff and business advisory jobs exceeds the Estonian average, but in secretarial work the average salary remains slightly below the Estonian average.

In the future, the number of managers and specialists in counselling and personnel development will increase. It is affected by the increasing labour shortage, the rapidly changing need for skills, the integration of people into the labour market and the changed expectations of their professional lives and careers. There is also a growing need for business advisory managers and top professionals in terms of demographic change, technological development, organisational and business model restructuring. The number of administrative and personnel accounting jobs is decreasing, as technological developments and automation lead to changes in the content of the work.

Personnel work and information and document management specialties train people more than the number of jobs. Nearly 50 staff and career staff are needed per year, but there are three times as many graduates. The number of graduates in business advisory disciplines corresponds to the need for labour. There is also a balance between the number of graduates and jobs in the Assistants' specialties. At the same time, the need for health secretaries is increasing, but no separate education is provided to them.

Information is based on the OSKA Staff and Administrative Work and Business Advisory Workforce and Skills Survey, which projected employment in the field until 2025.
