Since 2014, digital competences, i.e. the skills required to succeed in the information society, have been defined in the national curriculum of the middle school and the upper secondary school. Such skills include, for example,

  • information finding and critical evaluation skills;
  • communication skills, including netiquette;
  • security - data, health, environment, equipment;
  • content creation, including copyright;
  • problem resolution skills in handling technology.

2018. the Digital Competence Level Work of the Year showed that 84% of students in primary and upper secondary school grades have an average or higher level of digital competence.
